Jenn's Adventures in Wonderland - Day 3

News:
My first question about the inauguration festivities? Where they gonna put all those sani-cans? Does Barack & Co. have a special port-a-potty, or do they get a real bathroom? Inquiring minds want to know.

Weather:
Y'all in New England can keep your damn snow. Been there, done that, no thanks.

Sports:
Rob's poor Eagles. Who ever heard of an Eagle getting trounced by a Cardinal. Darwinian confusion here people. But I'm happy for my friend Janet's Steelers. As long as our dishwasher doesn't flood the kitchen during the superbowl this year, I'm happy.

Health:
1mg of Klonipin could stun a rhino. Gotta go see Dr. "I'm from Canada and I listen" and get straightened out today. Pretty sure Dr. Australian Shepherd just wanted to keep me sedated over the weekend. Much less likely to drive into a tree.

Dogs:
Clicker training at its finest - Nike can retrieve my meds from just about anywhere. Good boy.

People:
I'm surprised by the level of support from friends. I am grateful for the kind words and concern. There are some who think I should be able to reach through my now cracked facade and tough it up and suck it out and help myself. I think there's a balance. I can do that, but I still need some help with the glue.

Loves y'all.

No offense to your friends who are telling you to suck it up and tough it out...it doesn't work that way!!! If you go that route, it'll catch up with you eventually, maybe not today, or tomorrow, but it will, when you least expect it. The way you are approaching your issue right now is the correct way, the healthy way, the right way! YOU GO GIRL!

ok. seriously, back to the "life is funny" aisle - you are in "luck?" regarding my resourceful-ness w/glue. After my last cordless hot glue gun was senselessly killed by one of my odd-but-loveable children, I found it necessary to break away from my dependancy on it & mourn my loss one short line away from counselling. BUT ~ oddly JUST seriously (....as serious as you can get about this...) last week declared myself cured of the have-glue gun-will-travel-mrs-fix-it-extrodinaire syndrome and pleasantly made due w/a handy little stick of elmer's while wrapping a birthday present, ( trust in me the fact that after wrapping presents at Christmas w/6 men in the house a backpack w/a glue stick was MUCH handier than a roll of tape.) ANYHOW - short story long, the present looked great & I am sure that if you need it - I will be happy to help. keep me posted.

I'm with Mo. Guessing that the "suck it up" folks either (a) were gifted with some idyllic existence and haven't got a clue, or (b) are so thoroughly repressed that the idea of facing their own fears sends them spiralling into a dark scary place and they'd rather not know it's there.
Yup.

Mo and Patience: I think that it is more that I have always been so highly functional that they can't quite grasp how deep this runs. I don't blame them, I just need to make them understand. They think its a small problem, something new, that all I have to do is get some exercise, take the right meds, and life will be "all better". They don't understand that this is a lifelong struggle, with ups and downs that I have expertly concealed from the world.

You are right Jenn, you did expertly conseal your struggle. More power to you for getting it out there! I know it's rough, but you sound like you are on the right path to getting where you want to be. If you need anything just let me know. :)

Hugs to you and your wonderful boy Nike! What a good boy he is.
